Financial Management Consultant, Federal Audit Readiness
Overview
You will own financial audit remediation for a Department of War entity, driving corrective actions to reach audit readiness. You will join a Finance & Accounting Consulting team at Guidehouse, working across multiple systems and processes. You will collaborate with component offices and headquarters to trace auditability from financial statements to operations. This role offers deep exposure to Federal accounting and audit standards while you handle large data volumes in Excel and financial systems.
What You'll Do7
- 1Develop and update process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, and corrective action plans for audit findings.
- 2Test internal controls and execute Managers Internal Controls Programs (A-123) to ensure compliance.
- 3Perform root cause analysis for journal vouchers and FBWT variances, and conduct PP&E audit remediation.
- 4Apply Federal accounting and audit expertise to recommend solutions for client finance operations.
- 5Handle large data volumes in Excel, financial systems, and databases to support audit activities.
- 6Learn and apply Federal audit standards, DOW processes, and internal controls to document and improve processes.
- 7Collaborate with component teams and headquarters to trace and document auditability from financial statements to operations.
Requirements8
- 1Active and maintained Secret Federal or DoD security clearance.
- 2Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Business, or related field.
- 32+ years of relevant experience in financial, auditing, accounting, or business.
- 4Advanced degree preferred.
- 55+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- 6Interest in obtaining CPA, CGFM, or related credential.
- 7DoD experience with financial, systems, audit, or operational process understanding.
- 8Experience performing financial statement audits, audit readiness services, or audit remediation within DoD or another federal agency.
