Overview
You will own financial reporting and compliance for a portfolio of government and non-profit clients, delivering annual reports, audit reports, and grant compliance reviews. Your work spans Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics, with a focus on federal grant regulations from HUD, DOT, DOE, and OMB. You will join a team of consultants and senior consultants, collaborating on audits and internal control mapping. This role stands out for its blend of hands-on accounting and advisory work, with a flexible hybrid schedule based in Austin.
What You'll Do7
- 1Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- 2Provide consulting services on grant-related matters, including preparation of grant reports and compliance reviews.
- 3Assist clients with governmental accounting requirements and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
- 4Conduct audits of financial records to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- 5Collaborate with clients to implement effective accounting systems and processes that enhance operational efficiency.
- 6Support clients in understanding how to prepare for audits, create or respond to procurement solicitations and map their internal controls and business workflows.
- 7Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting, auditing and financial reporting.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with a strong background in governmental, non-profit, and corporate accounting.
- 2Expertise in Federal, state, and local financial reporting and compliance regulations, including grants from HUD, DOT, DOE, and OMB.
- 3Proficiency in Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, or QuickBooks.
- 42+ years developing annual reports and audit reports.
- 5Advanced Excel techniques, Tableau, and AI tools for financial data analysis.
- 6Experience with Microsoft Power Platform apps such as Teams, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- 7Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required).
- 8Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for identifying discrepancies in financial data.
