Facilities Assistant (Evening) - School Maintenance
Overview
You will maintain school property across two campuses, ensuring safety and readiness for daily operations and events. Reporting to the Director of Support Operations, you join a facilities team dedicated to supporting students and staff. This role stands out for its evening schedule (3pm-11pm) and hands-on scope, from custodial tasks to event setups. What You'll Do10
- 1Ensure campus safety through regular inspections and prompt response to maintenance and emergency issues.
- 2Clean common areas: vacuum, sweep, mop, and restock supplies daily.
- 3Remove trash and recycling from all buildings.
- 4Perform light repairs: replace light bulbs, touch up paint, hang pictures or signage, refill soap dispensers, restock bathroom supplies.
- 5Maintain outdoor areas: landscaping support, clear walkways, apply salt, remove debris.
- 6Set up and break down for chapel, lunches, sporting events, assemblies, and special events.
- 7Move furniture, gym bleachers, and heavy equipment as needed.
- 8Communicate supply needs and repair requests to the Director of Facilities.
- 9Monitor and report inventory levels for custodial supplies.
- 10Support special projects across both campuses as directed.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma
- 21+ year in building maintenance or related field (multi-building or school experience a plus)
- 3Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for frequent travel between campuses
- 4Ability to pass Indiana school background checks
- 5Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- 6Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- 7Strong communication and teamwork skills
- 8Ability to work independently and respond to urgent situations
- 9Trained to operate small electrical equipment, manual and power tools
- 10Flexible schedule including occasional weekends
