Custodian - Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
Overview
Own the cleanliness and operational readiness of all facilities, supporting a safe environment for staff and visitors. Coordinate with the maintenance team to handle repairs and event setups across the building. This role demands attention to detail and physical stamina, with a focus on using industrial equipment. Work independently and as part of a team to uphold high standards of hygiene and order.
What You'll Do9
- 1Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, stairs, and surfaces both indoors and outdoors.
- 2Operate floor machines to scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors.
- 3Vacuum and shampoo carpets using extraction machines in offices, classrooms, and public areas.
- 4Clean and disinfect restrooms, showers, and locker rooms with sanitizing supplies.
- 5Handle waste collection and disposal, including replacing trash liners and transporting refuse.
- 6Set up and tear down furniture for events and meetings, moving and assembling as needed.
- 7Apply drain conditioners and odor control solutions on a routine schedule.
- 8Report repair needs through the work order system and unclog toilets, sinks, and drains as needed.
- 9Maintain exterior entrances, remove snow, and apply anti-skid materials to walkways.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or GED.
- 22+ years experience in an applied trade preferred.
- 3Ability to follow verbal and written work orders.
- 4Capability to work independently and in a team.
- 5Experience in varying weather conditions and willingness to handle spills and unpleasant environments.
- 6Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
- 7Valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
