Cleaner, Commercial Custodial Services
Overview
You will own daily custodial operations across a commercial facility, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene for staff and visitors. Reporting to the Custodial Manager, you will work alongside a small team to deliver consistent, high-quality results. This role demands attention to detail and physical endurance, with a focus on commercial floor care and restroom sanitation. You will also handle periodic deep cleaning and snow removal, ensuring the facility stays safe and presentable year-round.
What You'll Do9
- 1Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings using commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines.
- 2Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas, spot cleaning daily and shampooing as directed.
- 3Dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- 4Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors and partitions, and specified windows, plus glass and trim at entrance doors.
- 5Clean bathrooms daily: damp wipe glass, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls and shelves, and sweep, mop, and scrub floors.
- 6Monitor and report defects such as clogged urinals and burnt-out lights to supervisors promptly.
- 7Collect building trash daily, place in approved containers, and move to designated collection areas; replace liners per specs.
- 8Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at entrances and connecting paths as directed.
- 9Perform periodic tasks: high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, and wall washing.
Requirements5
- 1No previous experience required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
- 2Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
- 3Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack vacuum.
- 4Attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent service.
- 5High levels of energy and endurance for physical tasks.
