Reporting to the General Counsel, you will advise on the full employee lifecycle, from hiring to separations, and shape policies for a rapidly scaling organization. What You'll Do6

  • 1Advise the People Team and business leaders on headcount planning, performance management, and complex separations in real time.
  • 2Draft and maintain employee handbooks, employment contracts, offer letters, leave policies, and internal guidelines to ensure compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • 3Lead or advise on internal investigations into sensitive matters, ensuring discretion and procedural fairness.
  • 4Monitor evolving global labor laws and regulatory mandates, translating legal developments into actionable workflows.
  • 5Manage outside counsel for employment disputes and administrative charges, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality representation.
  • 6Develop and deliver training for managers on anti-harassment, interview best practices, and wage-and-hour compliance.

Requirements6

  • 1J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
  • 25+ years of focused employment law experience, with a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience preferred.
  • 3Deep familiarity with US federal and California labor laws, with aptitude for expanding expertise globally.
  • 4Proven ability to deliver tough news with empathy and influence stakeholders without relying on title.
  • 5Track record of providing risk-adjusted, creative solutions to complex personnel challenges.
  • 6Nice to have: expertise advising U.S.-based companies on international expansion in Germany, Japan, or South Korea, employment litigation, or prior in-house experience at a high-growth technology, robotics, or automotive company.
