Overview
We seek a proactive Senior Legal Counsel to lead labor and employment strategy nationwide. This role drives legal compliance and risk mitigation across diverse jurisdictions while collaborating with HR and business units. The ideal candidate excels in proactive advisory and offers expertise in complex employment law landscapes.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provide legal advice on employment law issues and support HR operations across the country
- 2Advise on HR contracts and agreements ensuring vendor compliance with legal standards
- 3Draft and manage employee agreements including severance and accommodation plans
- 4Handle internal employment claims and coordinate with outside counsel for litigation
- 5Identify HR process gaps and develop solutions to ensure legal compliance
- 6Guide business units on organizational restructuring and workforce reduction strategies
- 7Offer legal counsel on acquisitions and divestitures focusing on employment policy risks
- 8Develop training programs on labor and employment topics for HR and management
- 9Review and update enterprise-wide employment policies and procedures
- 10Collaborate with Head of Global HSE to implement OSHA compliance and safety protocols
- 11Ensure adherence to EEOC FLSA FMLA NLRB ADEA ADA Title VII WARN discrimination and equal pay regulations
Requirements12
- 1JD from accredited law school with active U.S. bar admission
- 2Minimum eight years of labor and employment law experience
- 3Proven experience in large law firms preferred
- 4Background in employee health and welfare matters
- 5Ability to draft concise legal documents for non-lawyers
- 6Strong knowledge of federal state and municipal labor regulations
- 7Expertise in EEOC FLSA FMLA NLRB ADEA ADA Title VII WARN discrimination and equal pay laws
- 8Experience with business client HR advisory and counsel delivery
- 9Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 10Self-motivated and capable of rapid problem solving
- 11Adaptability to fast-paced high-output environments
- 12Travel capability required
