Embedded Software Engineer, Rust & Linux
Overview
You will design and deliver maintainable embedded applications in Rust for Embedded Linux and RTOS environments. As part of an Agile team, you'll collaborate with the platform technical lead to derive low-level designs from system requirements. You'll own the software quality lifecycle, from unit testing to peer reviews, and mentor engineers new to embedded development. This role impacts a new generation of HVAC controllers in a high-technology engineering setting.
What You'll Do6
- 1Design, develop, and ship maintainable, safe, concurrent embedded applications using Rust.
- 2Collaborate with the platform technical lead to derive and document low-level designs from high-level system requirements.
- 3Drive software quality through unit and integration testing, peer code reviews, and documentation standards.
- 4Mentor team members new to embedded software or Rust, guiding their growth in RTOS and Embedded Linux.
- 5Specify and implement functionality for embedded subsystems on Embedded Linux and RTOS, ensuring real-time performance.
- 6Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from low-level design to deployment and support.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of embedded software development experience.
- 2Strong proficiency in Rust, including ownership, memory safety, and concurrency patterns.
- 3Proven experience with Embedded Linux and RTOS.
- 4Hands-on commitment to testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- 5Experience with Git, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
- 6Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
- 7Experience with TCP/IP, CAN, or USB.
- 8Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC.
