What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct transthoracic echocardiograms using ultrasound equipment to assess cardiac structure and function.
- 2Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and position them to obtain optimal imaging results.
- 3Calibrate and operate diagnostic ultrasound machines and transducers, performing routine equipment checks.
- 4Capture and document still and moving images of the heart, analyzing preliminary findings for interpreting cardiologists.
- 5Communicate relevant patient information and abnormal findings to cardiologists or supervising physicians.
- 6Enter diagnostic data and scan reports into EMR or PACS systems accurately and timely.
- 7Follow standard precautions and aseptic techniques, cleaning and disinfecting equipment between patients.
- 8Maintain a calm, compassionate approach with patients, especially those who are anxious or medically fragile.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of sonography experience (required).
- 21+ years of medical imaging experience (required).
- 3ARDMS Certification (required).
- 4Associate's degree or certificate from an accredited cardiac sonography program.
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- 6Experience with EMR systems (2+ years preferred).
- 7Phlebotomy experience (1+ year preferred).
- 8Internal medicine medical terminology (1+ year preferred).
