Overview
You will perform and assist diagnostic Echocardiography procedures at UTMB Health in League City, TX. Under supervision, you'll handle transthoracic and stress exams, plus inpatient TEE assistance. What You'll Do7
- 1Acquire and record Echocardiography images for transthoracic and stress procedures, ensuring accurate analysis and charging.
- 2Assist physicians with transesophageal procedures, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety.
- 3Operate Hospital/Cardiology Information Systems and office software to document and manage patient data.
- 4Monitor patient reactions to contrast media and medications, applying critical thinking to address adverse effects.
- 5Maintain and care for Echocardiography equipment, performing routine checks and reporting issues.
- 6Report near misses and errors promptly into the patient safety reporting system to improve processes.
- 7Follow safety standards and protocols to ensure optimal patient care and regulatory compliance.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited ultrasound program
- 30+ years of experience in sonography
- 4BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- 5RDCS certification from ARDMS or RCS from CCI, or registry eligible with attainment within 1 year of hire
- 6Basic computer knowledge for Hospital/Cardiology Information Systems and office software
- 7Ability to perform transthoracic and stress procedures
- 8Proficiency in sterile technique for inpatient TEE procedures
