What You'll Do10

  • 1Perform stress echocardiograms and transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) on adult patients.
  • 2Prepare patients by explaining procedures and gathering relevant medical histories.
  • 3Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment per manufacturer and facility guidelines.
  • 4Acquire and optimize diagnostic-quality cardiac ultrasound images.
  • 5Record examination findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • 6Assist cardiologists during specialized diagnostic procedures.
  • 7Monitor patient condition throughout exams and respond to emergencies.
  • 8Uphold infection prevention and control practices to ensure safety.
  • 9Comply with departmental policies, quality assurance, and accreditation requirements.
  • 10Maintain patient confidentiality per privacy regulations.

Requirements10

  • 1Diploma or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field.
  • 2Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification.
  • 3Current BLS and ACLS certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • 4IV start skills for administering echo contrast (e.g., Definity).
  • 5Previous experience in echocardiography preferred.
  • 6Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • 7Proficiency in echocardiographic imaging techniques.
  • 8Strong understanding of cardiac ultrasound equipment and technology.
  • 9Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • 102+ years of echocardiography experience preferred.
