Echo Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer), ARDMS
Overview
You will perform diagnostic echocardiograms for the VA Northern California Health Care System in Mather, CA, delivering high-quality imaging for physician interpretation. You'll join a Joint Commission Certified staffing agency, working alongside cardiologists, nurses, and the healthcare team. This full-time role offers a unique schedule with two consecutive weekdays off every other week, providing work-life balance. You will use ARDMS credentialing and BLS certification to care for Veteran patients in a respected federal facility.
What You'll Do8
- 1Perform diagnostic echocardiograms and obtain high-quality echocardiographic images for physician interpretation, ensuring accurate diagnosis.
- 2Review patient history and verify examination orders before each procedure, reducing errors and improving efficiency.
- 3Prepare and position patients for echocardiographic examinations, ensuring comfort and safety.
- 4Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond promptly to changes in condition, prioritizing patient well-being.
- 5Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
- 6Accurately document studies and patient information in the EHR, maintaining compliance with VA policies.
- 7Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and functioning, reporting any issues immediately.
- 8Maintain compliance with VA policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Requirements6
- 1U.S. Citizenship required for Federal Employment (VA) positions.
- 22+ years of current, consecutive experience as an Echo Technologist.
- 3Current ARDMS (RDCS) credential required.
- 4Current AHA BLS certification.
- 5Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959.
- 6Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies per safe patient handling guidelines.
