Overview

You will lead daily operations at a Single Adult shelter on Central Park West, ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient living environment. You will own facility oversight, staff supervision, and regulatory adherence, working directly with DHS, OTDA, and other agencies. This role demands crisis management skills and a hands-on approach to team leadership, making a tangible difference in housing placement efforts.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Drive housing placement for Adult Singles by coordinating with DHS and internal teams
  • 2Supervise Operations Managers, Shift Supervisors, Security, and Residential Aides, including hiring, training, and performance reviews
  • 3Address DHS, OTD, and RSRI deficiencies with Corrective Action Plans (CAP) to prevent recurrence
  • 4Coach staff on incident response, ensuring timely and accurate incident reports
  • 5Conduct site visits with DHS and OTDA to enforce policies and streamline operations
  • 6Monitor security performance to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff
  • 7Manage unit transfers, swaps, and vacancy control, including offline unit reconciliation
  • 8Coordinate food delivery and enforce proper handling and disposal protocols
  • 9Oversee data entry in CARES and ensure compliance with CRF, DHS, and OTDA standards
  • 10Facilitate department meetings and maintain open communication with property owners and contractors

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor's degree required
  • 23+ years in related field, preferably with multi-problem adult populations
  • 3Proven conflict resolution and vendor management skills
  • 4Experience with Work Order Systems and Security Management Systems
  • 5Ability to conduct instructor-level training on Fire Safety Systems
  • 6Self-directed with strong project management and analytical skills
  • 7Excellent written and verbal communication, with crisis management expertise
  • 8Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new databases
  • 9Willingness to travel and work varied hours, lifting up to 30 pounds
