Overview
The Director of Social Service Supervisor II leads the Shelter Intake Division at the NYC Department of Homeless Services. This full-time onsite competitive-1 position requires permanent supervisor status. The role oversees staff supervision and client placement while driving innovative strategies for homelessness prevention.
What You'll Do9
- 1Provide supervision and technical assistance to social services staff
- 2Function as liaison with shelter staff and community providers for client placement
- 3Refer staff to the Training Bureau for ongoing education
- 4Develop and monitor staffing schedules and monthly program reports
- 5Coordinate case conferences and internal/external meetings
- 6Make recommendations for innovative program strategies
- 7Collaborate with contracted sites and agencies serving homeless populations
- 8Monitor non-compliant clients and apply Client Responsibility procedures
- 9Submit cases for review and sanctions when appropriate
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's degree from accredited institution
- 2Two years full-time satisfactory experience in social casework
- 3One year supervisory experience required
- 4Proficiency with CARES.55a Program
