Program Director, Supportive Housing & Shelter Programs
Overview
Lead day-to-day operations of a transitional family residence serving families with children, driving outcomes in housing stability and family well-being. You will oversee a multi-disciplinary team of Social Service Supervisors, Housing Coordinators, and Case Managers, integrating services across employment, childcare, and recreation. Champion Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) while ensuring compliance with OTDA, DHS, and Win standards. Your leadership directly shapes program performance toward permanent housing and family goals, backed by a supportive nonprofit environment committed to ending homelessness.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary team, including Social Service Supervisors, Housing Coordinators, and Case Managers, to ensure cohesive service delivery.
- 2Integrate employment, childcare, and recreation services to support comprehensive client outcomes.
- 3Coach, train, and develop staff to drive high performance and continuous growth.
- 4Champion and implement Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) across all program activities.
- 5Monitor program performance, tracking progress toward permanent housing, employment, and family stability goals.
- 6Ensure timely, accurate documentation and compliance with program standards and systems, including CARES.
- 7Build and maintain strong partnerships with community providers and stakeholders to expand support services.
- 8Oversee program operations to maintain a safe, compliant, and high-quality environment for residents and staff.
Requirements7
- 1MPH, MSW, or MA in Health or Social Services required.
- 25+ years in human services, including 3 years in a supervisory role with staff and budget management.
- 3Familiarity with Evidence-Based Practices (EBP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC).
- 4Strong professional judgment, boundary-setting skills, and cultural awareness.
- 5Experience with CARES (preferred) and general comfort with workplace technology.
- 6Flexibility to be on call as needed (24/7 support).
- 7Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred).
