Director, Microgrid & Distributed Energy Strategy
Overview
Crusoe seeks a Director to lead microgrid and distributed energy strategy scaling AI infrastructure. This role drives end-to-end development of energy projects from identification to energized infrastructure while shaping industry leadership in energy-first AI.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead project incubation engine for energy projects from identification to energized infrastructure
- 2Drive full project lifecycle ownership including permitting, construction, and commissioning
- 3Develop technoeconomic models translating design choices into financial metrics like $/kW-month
- 4Convert successful projects into repeatable deployment playbooks and partner ecosystems
- 5Negotiate commercial agreements and lead technology pilots across energy technologies
- 6Coordinate cross-functional alignment between engineering, finance, legal, and operations
- 7Publish technical research and shape policy through public affairs engagement
- 8Own permitting and interconnection accountability through EPC management
- 9Design market structures for flexible load constructs and capacity products
- 10Produce decision-grade documentation and communicate complex solutions clearly
- 11Shape AI industry's power future through scalable energy solutions
Requirements10
- 110+ years in energy development power markets or infrastructure strategy
- 2Hands-on project execution experience at 200 MW scale or greater
- 3Technoeconomic modeling expertise translating generation design to investment outcomes
- 4Deep understanding of energy solution deployability and financeability
- 5Engineering degree required advanced technical degree preferred
- 6Prior experience at leading microgrid companies with design and commercial exposure
- 7Gigawatt-scale site planning and generation portfolio design experience
- 8Familiarity with large flexible loads and microgrid economics
- 9Network across microgrid developers OEMs EPCs utilities ISOs
