Dietary Aide Part-Time, Skilled Nursing & Long-Term Care
Overview
You will own food preparation and service for residents at Michigan's largest long-term care provider, Medilodge of West Bloomfield. You'll follow food safety protocols, manage dietary menus, and maintain clean kitchen standards. This part-time role offers flexible pay through OnShift and a Michigan Direct Care wage incentive. What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare and pre-portion food for regular and therapeutic diets per planned menus, using food safety techniques.
- 2Serve meals and snacks accurately, matching each resident's diet order and preferences.
- 3Record food temperatures during preparation and service, logging discrepancies to the supervisor.
- 4Operate dishwashing equipment and monitor water temperature and sanitizer levels.
- 5Clean work areas and use infection control techniques, including proper cleaning chemicals.
- 6Label, date, and store food correctly, checking refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- 7Assist with receiving and storing food supplies, verifying invoices, and tracking stock levels.
- 8Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.
Requirements7
- 1Tenth grade education or above, with a Food Handlers Permit if state regulations require.
- 2Experience in food service is desired.
- 3Follow food safety guidelines and maintain proper food temperatures.
- 4Use portion control utensils and standardized recipes accurately.
- 5Record temperatures and sanitizer levels on designated logs.
- 6Work cooperatively with team members and interact positively with residents.
- 7Perform physical tasks like lifting, standing, and moving supplies.
