You own the evening meal service for 120+ residents in a skilled nursing center. You prep nourishments, portion salads and desserts, pour beverages, and keep the kitchen clean. You work under the cook and food service director to deliver sanitary, organized service that meets state and federal guidelines. What You'll Do8
- 1Assist the cook with meal prep for evening service, following production sheets and pre-preparation sheets.
- 2Prep and label nourishments for residents per center procedures, ensuring diet compliance.
- 3Portion desserts, salads, and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pour beverages for tray line.
- 4Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment per sanitation standards.
- 5Stock serving lines and coolers with prepared items and supplies to meet service demand.
- 6Document food temps and waste on electronic documentation systems as required.
- 7Assist with special events meal service and set up/take down tables and service lines.
- 8Follow safety protocols for handling food and cleaning chemicals at all times.
Requirements6
- 11+ year in food service in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- 2High school diploma or GED required.
- 3Serve Safe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.
- 4Read and write English to follow production sheets and label items.
- 5Basic math for portioning and measuring ingredients.
- 6Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift up to 30 lbs.
