Overview

As a Dietary Aide at West Bloomfield Health and Rehab, you will own daily food service operations for a skilled nursing facility, serving 150+ residents. What You'll Do11

  • 1Store and handle food per facility procedures and state and federal guidelines.
  • 2Prepare food items using standardized recipes, following safe food handling practices.
  • 3Operate institutional equipment like dish machines and food carts per manufacturer directions.
  • 4Set up the tray line and assemble diet trays, matching foods and condiments to resident diet cards.
  • 5Deliver trays to dining areas and resident units, verifying each resident receives the correct diet.
  • 6Report food refusals to the supervisor and Charge Nurse, then prepare and serve alternates.
  • 7Clean dishes, utensils, and equipment, maintaining a sanitary food service workspace.
  • 8Prepare and deliver nourishments, supplements, and snacks to units on schedule.
  • 9Communicate equipment problems, pest signs, or injuries to the supervisor immediately.
  • 10Assist the Certified Dietary Manager with state inspection preparation and training.
  • 11Maintain computer records of dietary tasks and sanitation logs.

Requirements6

  • 1High school diploma or GED required.
  • 21+ year experience as a food service aide in an institutional setting preferred.
  • 3Ability to read and follow diet cards, portion guidelines, and sanitation procedures.
  • 4Computer skills for logging and communication.
  • 5Pass state and federal criminal background checks.
  • 6Physical ability to stand, lift 30+ lbs, and operate kitchen equipment.
