What You'll Do9
- 1Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including screening patients for oral diseases and reviewing medical history.
- 2Deliver preventive care such as scaling, root planing, and polishing using digital x-rays and electronic medical records.
- 3Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and the importance of lifelong dental health, tailoring advice to individual needs.
- 4Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride or sealants as needed, ensuring patient comfort.
- 5Capture and analyze diagnostic images using Velscope, Diagnodent, and digital scanners to detect early signs of oral issues.
- 6Collaborate with the dentist and team to develop patient treatment plans and coordinate follow-up care.
- 7Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in electronic medical record systems, documenting all procedures and observations.
- 8Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and operatory rooms, adhering to infection control protocols.
- 9Support the team in achieving patient satisfaction goals by providing empathetic and efficient care.
Requirements7
- 1Current dental hygienist license in Florida and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.
- 22+ years of clinical experience in a dental setting.
- 3Proficiency with Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, digital x-rays, and electronic medical records.
- 4CPR Certification required.
- 5Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, and patient screening.
- 6Physical ability to sit, stand, and lift up to 45 pounds as needed.
- 7Availability to attend periodic virtual or in-person training sessions.
