What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver preventive dental hygiene care to patients, including cleanings, screenings, and medical history reviews using Velscope and Diagnodent.
- 2Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care, tailoring advice to individual needs and promoting lifelong dental health.
- 3Perform digital x-rays and use digital scanners to capture accurate diagnostic images for treatment planning.
- 4Document patient care in electronic medical record systems, ensuring precise records for each visit.
- 5Collaborate with dentists and team members to coordinate patient treatment and follow-up care.
- 6Maintain a sterile and organized operatory, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- 7Support patient flow by managing appointment time efficiently and addressing patient questions and concerns.
- 8Participate in continuing education and mentorship sessions to expand clinical skills and stay current with dental practices.
- 9Assist with patient screening for oral cancer and other conditions, using Velscope technology for early detection.
Requirements9
- 1Active Florida dental hygienist license and an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene.
- 2CPR Certification required.
- 32+ years of clinical dental hygiene experience preferred.
- 4Proficiency with Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanners, and digital x-rays.
- 5Experience with electronic medical record systems for patient documentation.
- 6Excellent knowledge of dental procedures, patient screening, and medical history documentation.
- 7Physical ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 45 pounds.
- 8Availability to attend virtual or in-person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
- 9Pass a tuberculosis (TB) test prior to employment, as required for dental office roles.
