You'll own patient oral health as a Dental Hygienist at Family Dentistry of Orange Groves, part of Heartland Dental, the nation's largest support organization serving over 3,000 doctors. What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver preventive dental care to patients using Velscope, Diagnodent, and digital x-rays, ensuring accurate screenings and documentation.
- 2Perform dental hygiene procedures including scaling, root planing, and polishing, with a focus on patient comfort and education.
- 3Record patient medical histories and maintain electronic medical records, using electronic medical record systems to track care.
- 4Collaborate with the dental team to coordinate treatment plans and ensure seamless patient experiences.
- 5Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventative care routines to promote long-term health.
- 6Maintain clinical efficiency by managing patient flow and preparing operatory rooms with necessary supplies.
- 7Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards, including participating in required TB testing.
- 8Participate in virtual and in-person training sessions to stay current with clinical best practices.
- 9Support the practice's goal of delivering the highest quality dental care, as guided by Heartland Dental's standards.
Requirements10
- 1Current dental hygienist license in Florida
- 2Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene (where required)
- 3CPR Certification
- 4Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, and patient screening
- 5Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems
- 6New graduates and experienced hygienists both encouraged to apply
- 7Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- 8Prolonged sitting and standing, with ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- 9Availability to attend periodic virtual training sessions
- 10Completion of a tuberculosis (TB) test prior to employment (not applicable in FL)
