Custodian, School Facilities & Safety
Overview
Own and maintain a safe, sanitary, and attractive school environment at Meridian Elementary at scale. Protect facilities, assist with events, and support campus security while delivering reliable custodial operations. You will join a collaborative campus team focused on safety, cleanliness, and smooth daily activities. This role is onsite in Gilbert Public Schools with fingerprint clearance required.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas to ensure a sanitary environment.
- 2Attend in service trainings on safety and cleaning procedures to stay current on best practices
- 3Deliver supplies, mail, and equipment to appropriate locations for efficient operations
- 4Greet and assist visitors to maintain campus security and orderly access
- 5Maintain and stock cleaning supplies and equipment for ongoing facility upkeep
- 6Perform minor maintenance such as changing light bulbs and door adjustments to support safe facilities
- 7Conduct semi-annual and annual cleaning tasks including floor care and carpet cleaning
- 8Communicate safety issues to site personnel and escalate as needed
- 9Secure facilities and grounds after daily operations to minimize risk
- 10Support other staff with tasks to ensure smooth site operations
Requirements5
- 1Must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 2High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with ability to read and follow technical instructions
- 3No prior job experience required
- 4Ability to stand and walk frequently and perform light lifting as part of daily duties
- 5Onsite presence at Meridian Elementary with afternoon shift 3 PM to 7 PM
