Custodian, Facilities Maintenance & Cleaning (Full-Time)
Overview
Custodian role responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of school facilities at Higley Unified School District. You will clean classrooms, cafeterias, restrooms, hallways, and common areas at a fast pace across campus sites. You will also support event setup and campus security duties and maintain confidentiality of information encountered. This position offers 12 months of employment, onsite work in Phoenix, AZ, and opportunities to support breaks and summer deep cleaning.
What You'll Do9
- 1Clean windows, dust, sweep, mop floors, vacuum carpeted areas, clean sinks and toilets, and sanitize desks and chairs
- 2Remove trash from classrooms and outdoor receptacles; transport to dumpster
- 3Secure campus doors and gates at end of day
- 4Clean up biohazards per procedures
- 5Set up and take down equipment for sporting events and campus events
- 6Deep clean facility during school breaks and summer
- 7Support event setup including classrooms and common areas
- 8Maintain confidentiality of information encountered on campus
- 9Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements10
- 1High School Education preferred
- 2Effective communication with children and adults
- 3Ability to work at fast pace and walk long distances on campus
- 4First Aid Trained preferred
- 5Ability to pass background and reference checks
- 6Valid driver’s license and/or CDL if required for position
- 7IVP Fingerprint Card
- 8Ability to meet physical demands including moving 25-50 lbs and prolonged standing
- 9Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8 hours days
- 10No strong software or technical tool requirements noted
