Custodian, Elementary School District & Onsite Facilities Caretaker
Overview
Own the safety and cleanliness of a large school facility with a focus on maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant for students and staff. You’ll work 12 PM to 8:30 PM, part-time or full-time, within a supportive district team and benefit from retirement, health, and growth opportunities. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain clean facilities by sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors and surfaces
- 2Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment to prescribed standards in assigned areas
- 3Empty trash receptacles and move furniture as needed to support facility operations
- 4Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance, reporting major repairs promptly
- 5Inspect and maintain fire equipment on campus and document inspections
- 6Perform safety and security checks, report hazards, and secure the facility as required
- 7Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
- 8Follow district policies and adhere to district dress code while working with students and staff
- 9Respond to internal and external customer inquiries in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner
- 10Collaborate with team members to ensure clean, safe, and functional spaces

- 1Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
- 2Previous custodial experience desired
- 3Satisfactory criminal background check
- 4Must be able to stand and walk constantly and lift up to 50 pounds
- 5Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds for operation of machines
