What You'll Do8

  • 1Perform CT scans and radiographs following ARRT standards, ensuring optimal image quality for diagnosis.
  • 2Operate CT equipment (e.g., GE, Siemens) to capture cross-sectional images, applying radiation safety protocols.
  • 3Coordinate patient throughput in the Imaging department, managing schedules and prioritizing emergent cases.
  • 4Document exam results and relay critical findings to physicians, maintaining accurate records in PACS.
  • 5Provide age-specific patient care, addressing needs of pediatric to geriatric patients with compassion.
  • 6Participate in the rotating call schedule, covering after-hours and weekend CT procedures.
  • 7Train and mentor new technologists, leading in-services on CT techniques and safety updates.
  • 8Collaborate with radiologists and nurses to adjust protocols for complex cases, ensuring diagnostic accuracy.

Requirements8

  • 11+ year of CT tech experience in a hospital setting.
  • 2Certified in Radiology and CT by the ARRT (R)(CT).
  • 3Licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • 4Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiology program or equivalent military training.
  • 5Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • 6Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology preferred.
  • 7Proficiency in CT anatomy and physiology, with ability to adapt to new equipment.
  • 8Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team coordination.
