What You'll Do11
- 1Oversee all aspects of accounting operations including GL AR/AP payroll and revenue recognition
- 2Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- 3Lead external audits and coordinate with external tax and audit partners
- 4Implement and optimize financial systems and internal controls
- 5Partner with FP&A Legal and Operations to align financial data with company goals
- 6Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and board reporting packages
- 7Support budgeting forecasting and scenario planning with finance leadership
- 8Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulatory requirements
- 9Build mentor and manage small accounting teams as the company scales
- 10Analyze financial performance and drive strategic decisions
- 11Collaborate with leadership to enhance operational efficiency
Requirements9
- 17+ years progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years as Controller or Assistant Controller
- 2Prior experience in venture-backed startup or high-growth environment
- 3Strong understanding of US GAAP revenue recognition ASC 606 and compliance frameworks
- 4Experience managing audits and working with external accounting firms
- 5Proficiency with accounting ERP systems such as NetSuite QuickBooks Online Sage Intacct Ramp Bill.com
- 6CPA certification strongly preferred
- 7Background in SaaS fintech or technology sectors
- 8Experience with financial planning reporting tools like Excel Google Sheets Cube Mosaic Looker Tableau
- 9Familiarity with collaboration platforms Slack Notion GDrive Zoom and compliance tools Carta FloQast AuditBoard Workiva
