Controller at Alchemy Blockchain Platform
Overview
We seek a Controller to lead Alchemy's end-to-end accounting function. You will set strategy manage a growing team handle routine financial operations ensure compliance and architect scalable accounting infrastructure. This role blends technical accounting expertise with business judgment.
What You'll Do13
- 1Set the strategy and long-term direction for Alchemy’s accounting function systems and team
- 2Assume full responsibility for routine financial operations including general ledger AP AR and reporting
- 3Manage complex multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations for global operations including Romania
- 4Own timely accurate monthly quarterly and annual close processes
- 5Architect and refine a scalable accounting infrastructure using NetSuite Orb Zip and Ramp
- 6Develop policies procedures and controls promoting financial accuracy operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
- 7Oversee tax planning compliance and preparation in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- 8Lead relationships with third-party accounting firms auditors tax advisors and other financial service providers
- 9Present reporting that provides meaningful insight into financial and operational performance
- 10Distill complex financial information into clear recommendations supporting strategic decisions
- 11Lead technical accounting initiatives including revenue recognition vendor analysis and customer analysis
- 12Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-performing accounting teams fostering ownership rigor and continuous improvement
- 13Lead, develop, and scale capabilities of a high-performing accounting team
Requirements16
- 110+ years progressive accounting experience with leadership as Controller Assistant Controller Head of Accounting or similar senior role
- 2Public accounting experience combined with meaningful in-house operating experience at a high-growth technology company
- 3Strong ownership of general ledger AP AR consolidations financial reporting and close processes
- 4Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP and ability to apply accounting guidance to complex transactions
- 5Experience building scalable accounting systems processes policies and internal controls focused on accuracy timeliness and scalability
- 6Audit-readiness experience or ability to prepare for future audits through documentation controls and reporting infrastructure
- 7Business judgment skills connecting detailed accounting work to broader company strategy
- 8Hands-on operating style comfortable working in fast-moving ambiguous environments
- 9Strong communication abilities partnering cross-functionally explaining complex topics to leadership board members investors and external partners
- 10People leadership experience leading developing and raising standards for an accounting team
- 11CPA strongly preferred
- 12Experience in high-growth startup or later-stage private company preferably Series C D or E
- 13NetSuite experience preferred but not required
- 14Experience with billing procurement and expense management systems
- 15Experience with crypto digital assets blockchain or web3 is a plus
- 16Ability to manage external tax technical accounting M&A audit or advisory partners
Salary Insight
$200 - $265k per year
