What You'll Do37

  • 1Develop and execute a contractor management strategy supporting fiber construction goals and operational growth
  • 2Build maintain and strengthen relationships with construction contractors subcontractors inspectors and strategic vendor partners
  • 3Identify evaluate and onboard contractor partners to meet current and future construction capacity needs
  • 4Maintain a diversified contractor network to mitigate operational risk
  • 5Act as primary escalation point for contractor issues performance concerns and relationship matters
  • 6Lead negotiations on pricing scopes of work and project-specific terms
  • 7Partner with Finance Legal Procurement and Operations on contracts master service agreements and purchase orders
  • 8Monitor contractor spending project costs change requests and budget impacts
  • 9Recommend process pricing or vendor changes to improve cost control and performance
  • 10Ensure contractor completed work meets safety schedule and budget standards
  • 11Coordinate with Project Management Engineering and field teams to align contractor resources with priorities
  • 12Support workload forecasting crew capacity planning and contractor resource assignment
  • 13Monitor contractor progress resolve field issues and drive timely resolutions

Requirements11

  • 17+ years experience in telecommunications utility construction fiber construction or related fields
  • 23+ years leadership supervisory or people management experience
  • 3Proven experience managing construction contractors subcontractors or field service providers
  • 4Expertise negotiating pricing scopes of work and service agreements
  • 5Strong project management skills across multiple concurrent projects
  • 6Deep understanding of fiber construction processes inspection practices and quality standards
  • 7Ability to develop and maintain contractor relationships and vendor networks
  • 8Knowledge of construction contract terminology and commercial terms
  • 9Experience with B2B commercial fiber long haul fiber or grant funded infrastructure projects
