Overview
You will own project delivery as the Owner's Representative at JMT, an employee-owned firm ranked #45 on ENR's Top 500. You manage scope, schedule, and budget for higher education and municipal construction projects. You coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors, and lead a project team. This role blends 50% office and 50% field work in Austin's southwest corridor, with a new office featuring a gym and café.
What You'll Do8
- 1Own project delivery as the Owner's Representative, managing scope, schedule, and budget for higher education and municipal projects.
- 2Develop Project Management Plans (PMP) and QA programs, and track schedules and budgets using Microsoft Project and Excel.
- 3Lead and mentor staff through 1:1 meetings, setting expectations and providing feedback.
- 4Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors, and manage sub-consultants and technical resources.
- 5Prepare bid packages, assist with contractor procurement, and review and approve contractor invoicing.
- 6Draft extra work order requests and task proposals, and prepare client invoices.
- 7Conduct site visits to inspect construction progress and ensure contract compliance.
- 8Drive project closeout, including punch lists and final documentation.
Requirements8
- 15-10+ years in construction management or a related discipline.
- 2Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or architecture.
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and project scheduling tools.
- 4Experience with higher education, municipal, or county projects involving active oversight of multiple trades.
- 5CCM or PMP certification preferred.
- 6LEED AP and OSHA certifications preferred.
- 7Experience as an owner's representative or with government agencies.
- 8Knowledge of project delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3.
