You will own heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction to closeout, managing budgets up to $50M. You report to Senior Management and collaborate with Superintendents, Foremen, Estimating, and Accounting. You act as the primary client liaison, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality. What You'll Do10

  • 1Manage all project phases from pre-construction to closeout, adhering to the Project Cycle.
  • 2Review plans, specifications, addenda, and scope of work to ensure full project familiarity.
  • 3Coordinate schedules, budgets, and resources to meet milestone targets.
  • 4Procure major materials, subcontractors, and equipment rentals, negotiating terms.
  • 5Track documentation: permits, licenses, submittals, RFIs, work plans, and change orders.
  • 6Lead project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, driving action items.
  • 7Monitor financial performance and schedule progress, identifying risks and corrective actions.
  • 8Prepare status reports for senior leadership, highlighting variances and forecasts.
  • 9Approve subcontractor and supplier invoices, ensuring cost accuracy.
  • 10Support Estimating with takeoffs, pricing, and bid reviews as needed.

Requirements10

  • 13-5 years of project management experience in construction or heavy civil environments.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3Proven track record managing heavy civil projects including paving, underground utilities, concrete, and grading.
  • 4Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and practices.
  • 5Familiarity with union agreements, prevailing wage requirements, and construction contracts.
  • 6Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob software is a plus.
  • 7Excellent financial and schedule management skills.
  • 8Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-production environment.
  • 9Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • 10Effective written and verbal communication skills.
