CNC Programmer, Mastercam X5 & Mold Making
Overview
You will own CNC programming for precision mold components at a leading manufacturing facility in Brea, CA, programming with Mastercam X5 and supporting machinists through first article runs. You will collaborate with engineering and tooling teams to interpret drawings and optimize toolpaths, ensuring tight tolerances and on-time production. This role focuses on mold-making programming, offering $30-$35/hour with weekly pay, benefits, and a temp-to-hire path. You will work full-time with overtime as needed, driving efficiency across 3-axis and multi-axis machines.
What You'll Do9
- 1Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam X5 to produce precision mold components.
- 2Develop machining strategies for complex mold geometries, minimizing cycle times while maintaining quality.
- 3Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications to define toolpaths and operations.
- 4Troubleshoot and improve existing CNC programs to reduce defects and increase throughput.
- 5Support machinists during program prove-outs and first article runs, adjusting parameters as needed.
- 6Recommend tooling and workholding improvements to enhance machining efficiency and reliability.
- 7Maintain program documentation and revision control to ensure traceability and compliance.
- 8Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production teams to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
- 9Follow safety procedures and manufacturing standards, ensuring a safe work environment.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2Mastercam X5 software experience required.
- 3Prior mold-making programming experience required.
- 4Experience programming 3-axis and/or multi-axis CNC machines.
- 5Familiarity with Haas CNC machines preferred.
- 6Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T.
- 7Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining practices.
- 8Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- 9Programming certificate required.
