Overview

This role owns CNC machining for precision molds tooling prototypes and production hardware at a fast growing aerospace startup. You will work from CAD drawings and GD&T requirements to set up program and operate CNC mills and lathes, collaborating with design engineers to improve part producibility. You will gain exposure to broader manufacturing engineering tasks in a hands-on environment with room to grow into leadership.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and optimize CAM programs and machining processes for composite and metallic components
  • 2Ship precision molds tooling prototypes and production hardware from setup through inspection
  • 3Design and improve fixtures and workholding solutions for prototypes and production
  • 4Select cutting tools workholding and machining strategies to meet part tolerances
  • 5Work from CAD models and engineering drawings to ensure GD&T conformance
  • 6Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time
  • 7Communicate schedules technical issues and project status with engineering teams
  • 8Maintain a clean organized safe shop environment and calibrate equipment as needed
  • 9Support tooling repair and material purchasing as demand grows
  • 10Assist with capacity planning and scheduling to meet production goals

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 21+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 3Experience with CNC milling and or turning
  • 4Familiarity with CAM programming and CNC setup
  • 5Ability to read engineering drawings CAD models and GD&T
  • 6Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on mindset for manufacturing
  • 7Good communication and organizational skills
  • 8Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • 9U.S. Person status due to export control regulations
  • 10Experience with CADCAM tools such as Fusion Mastercam Onshape or equivalents (preferred)
