You work in a climate-controlled shop with 120 CNC machines and advanced metrology equipment, collaborating with a team of machinists and trainers. This role includes G and M code programming, Siemens and Fanuc controls, and first-piece inspection using micrometers and calipers. What You'll Do10

  • 1Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes to machine precision components from blueprints.
  • 2Change tooling, clamps, and vises; install workholding devices for each job.
  • 3Perform machine offsets and zero out machines before production runs.
  • 4Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
  • 5Verify gauging tools are calibrated and suitable for each measurement.
  • 6Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
  • 7Produce components that consistently meet blueprint and quality standards.
  • 8Set up new and repeat jobs, ensuring efficient changeovers between operations.
  • 9Monitor machines, adjust offsets, and debug issues affecting part quality.
  • 10Keep the work area clean and organized; follow safety and shop procedures.

Requirements10

  • 12+ years of CNC setup or operating experience on CNC mills or lathes.
  • 2Proficiency with G and M code controls and machining processes.
  • 3Ability to perform own quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
  • 4Strong blueprint reading skills for dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
  • 5Hands-on experience with machine offsets and zeroing out machines.
  • 6Experience with tooling changes, fixture installation, and workholding alignment.
  • 7Attention to detail and commitment to precision quality.
  • 8Basic troubleshooting skills to correct machining and quality issues.
  • 9Willingness to work with Siemens and Fanuc controls or learn them.
  • 10Formal CNC schooling or certification, with as little as 6 months practical experience considered.
