CNC Machinist, 2nd Shift & Medical Manufacturing
Overview
You will own setup and production on CNC mills or lathes, running high-mix medical parts in a family-owned shop. Work across 3-axis, 5-axis, and horizontal mills, plus dual-spindle lathes with live tooling. You get a machine, program, and preset cart, then hit efficiency standards while holding critical dimensions. This role stands out with a 10% night shift premium and a 3-day weekend every week, plus a quieter shift with more freedom.
What You'll Do7
- 1Set up CNC mills or lathes from provided programs and preset cart supplies, including changing tools, touching off, and indicating work offsets
- 2Run production parts while inspecting critical dimensions to ensure they stay within GD&T tolerances like true position and profile of a surface
- 3Adjust G-Code programs, work offsets, and tool offsets to maintain quality and hit pre-determined efficiency goals
- 4Follow department-specific procedures for machine setup, operation, and part inspection on every job
- 5Drive process improvements by suggesting creative solutions to reduce cycle times or improve part quality
- 6Maintain a fantastic attitude and willingness to learn, supporting teammates and sharing knowledge on complex setups
- 7Keep an excellent attendance record and arrive punctually for every 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM shift, Monday through Thursday
Requirements7
- 13+ years of CNC setup or operation experience on lathes or mills
- 2Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, including GD&T features such as true position and profile of a surface
- 3Ability to manipulate G-Code programs, change work offsets, and adjust tool offsets
- 4Ability to change, touch-off, and indicate tools for CNC lathes or mills
- 5Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk up to 90% of the day
- 6Ability to bend, twist, turn, and reach up to 100% of the day, with continuous exposure to shop environment conditions
- 7Punctual with excellent attendance record
