Cloud Engineer, GCP & Security for Federal Sandboxed Government Work
Overview
Own cloud infrastructure on GCP at scale within a high security government environment. Build IaC, automate CI/CD, and implement cloud security and compliance in collaboration with cross functional teams. This role emphasizes secure design, automation, and federal standards adherence. You will contribute to cloud optimization and infrastructure strategies in a mission critical context.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and manage secure and scalable GCP infrastructure and services
- 2Design and maintain IaC using Terraform Deployment Manager or similar tools
- 3Support CI/CD pipeline automation and integration
- 4Collaborate with software engineers security personnel and government stakeholders to support development and deployment workflows
- 5Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and ensure cloud services meet SLAs
- 6Implement cloud best practices and ensure compliance with federal security standards such as FedRAMP NIST
- 7Provide documentation and knowledge sharing with the broader engineering team
- 8Drive continuous improvement in cloud automation and infrastructure strategies
- 9Ensure proper access control networking and security posture across environments
- 10Maintain operational readiness in a federal contract setting
Requirements8
- 14+ years of experience in cloud engineering with at least 2 years on GCP
- 2Hands on experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine Cloud Functions VPC IAM GKE and BigQuery
- 3Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform Ansible or Deployment Manager
- 4Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI Jenkins or Cloud Build
- 5Solid understanding of Linux systems networking and containerization (Docker Kubernetes)
- 6Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- 7Willing to obtain a security clearance
- 8Preferred: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification
