Overview

Own cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and operations at scale within Google Cloud Platform GCP. Lead IaC automation and security governance in a high-security government environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate deployment pipelines. This role focuses on building reliable, compliant cloud services and enabling rapid, secure delivery of software across teams. You will contribute to cloud strategy, automation standards, and knowledge sharing that differentiates LightFeather.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP and integrate with existing systems
  • 2Design and maintain Terraform based infrastructure as code and automation Playbooks to support production workloads
  • 3Drive CI/CD automation and deployment workflows across multiple teams using GitLab CI or similar tools
  • 4Collaborate with engineers, security, and government stakeholders to optimize deployment pipelines and cloud usage
  • 5Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure SLAs for critical cloud services
  • 6Implement federal security standards and compliance controls including FedRAMP and NIST
  • 7Provide clear documentation and enable knowledge sharing across the engineering org
  • 8Lead initiatives to optimize cost, performance, and reliability of cloud resources
  • 9Mentor junior engineers and contribute to security and cloud engineering best practices
  • 10Document and demonstrate cloud automation patterns and runbooks to accelerate on-boarding of new teams

Requirements10

  • 1Willing to obtain a security clearance
  • 24+ years of experience in cloud engineering with at least 2 years on GCP
  • 3Hands-on experience with Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery
  • 4Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager
  • 5Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build
  • 6Strong Linux, networking, and containerization knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes )
  • 7Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • 8Preferred: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification
  • 9Experience supporting federal government contracts and understanding of ATO processes
  • 10Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go
