GCP Cloud/DevOps Engineer, Government Cloud & Security
Overview
Own the design and delivery of scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP for a high-security government environment. You will build IaC pipelines, automate CI/CD, and implement cloud security best practices at scale. Work with cross-functional teams including software engineers, security, and government stakeholders to drive cloud optimization and compliance. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering and clear documentation while shaping cloud automation strategies.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP and ensure it meets SLAs
- 2Develop and maintain Terraform based IaC and related tooling to automate cloud resources
- 3Support CI/CD pipeline automation and integration across services
- 4Collaborate with engineers, security, and stakeholders to optimize deployment workflows
- 5Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and enforce cloud security controls
- 6Implement federal standards such as FedRAMP and NIST compliance in infrastructure designs
- 7Provide clear documentation and knowledge sharing for the engineering team
- 8Design guardrails and runbooks for incident response and recovery
Requirements10
- 1Willing to obtain a security clearance
- 24+ years of cloud engineering experience with at least 2 years on GCP
- 3Hands-on experience with Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery
- 4Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager
- 5Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build
- 6Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- 7Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- 8Bonus: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification
- 9Bonus: experience supporting federal government contracts and ATO processes
- 10Bonus: familiarity with AWS or Azure and scripting in Python or Go

$120 - $140k per year
