Overview
You will own the reliability and expansion of satellite ground system software on hybrid and private cloud infrastructure for Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a Parsons subsidiary. You will architect and automate AWS GovCloud environments, manage Kubernetes and OpenStack platforms, and embed security into CI/CD pipelines. Your team supports developers building systems with government-off-the-shelf, commercial, and open-source software. You will drive a 98% uptime mandate while performing root cause analysis and building infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible. This role demands a rare blend of software development and operations expertise, with daily focus on network engineering and security hardening.
What You'll Do10
- 1Provision and maintain AWS GovCloud infrastructure, specifying, acquiring, and configuring servers to meet mission requirements.
- 2Design and automate application and infrastructure security tools, integrating container scanning and VM scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
- 3Configure RedHat Enterprise Linux physical and virtual machines, ensuring Kubernetes and OpenStack platforms stay available 98% of the time.
- 4Perform current state analysis of system security controls against DISA STIG standards and implement recommendations.
- 5Implement configuration management automation with Ansible to maintain system consistency.
- 6Assist development teams with requirements verification and perform root cause analysis, delivering corrective actions and technical summaries.
- 7Fix tier 3 support escalations, providing proactive response to complex support challenges.
- 8Develop Infrastructure-as-Code with security embedded using Terraform.
- 9Write Python scripts to automate workflows and support team delivery improvements.
- 10Build and implement services to enhance monitoring and alerting across integration, test, and ops environments.
Requirements10
- 115+ years of experience with core infrastructure: operating systems, networking, identity management, and access control.
- 212+ years designing solutions in cloud-optimized, private cloud, and hybrid environments.
- 312+ years supporting secure, scalable, elastic applications on distributed architectures.
- 4Expert proficiency in Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure management.
- 5Proficiency with server configuration tools like Chef, Ansible, or Puppet.
- 6Expert in creating and deploying Docker or Podman images and orchestrating with Kubernetes.
- 7Strong Linux skills, especially RHEL families, and Bash scripting.
- 8Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI; U.S. citizenship required.
- 9Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10Proficiency in implementing greenfield cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
