Overview

Own Windows Server production operations and Kubernetes environment while maintaining availability. Lead incident response and design secure scalable cloud architectures. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible. Create CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation. Design monitoring logging and alerting solutions. Enforce security best practices and produce technical documentation. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in DevOps practices. This is a senior role where you will own systems and drive improvements. The position offers a unique blend of on-premises and cloud expertise.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Administer and troubleshoot patch and harden Windows Server systems to maintain availability
  • 2Take ownership of Kubernetes environment EKS and operate troubleshoot production workloads
  • 3Lead incident response activities and conduct root cause analysis across Windows cloud and container platforms
  • 4Design and maintain secure scalable cloud architectures across Windows and Linux systems independently
  • 5Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible for environment provisioning
  • 6Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation aligned with industry standards
  • 7Design and implement monitoring logging and alerting solutions to ensure system availability and performance
  • 8Enforce security best practices including identity management and system hardening for federal environments
  • 9Produce technical documentation runbooks and SOPs while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers
  • 10Provide technical leadership in DevOps practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • 11Obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance

Requirements10

  • 1Strong current experience with Windows Server operations including support troubleshooting maintenance and patching
  • 2Hands-on expertise in Kubernetes EKS capable of independent operation and troubleshooting in production
  • 3At least 10 years of relevant IT engineering experience with 3+ years supporting cloud engineering environments
  • 4Experience with AWS GovCloud required
  • 5Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or related field with optional Master's substitution
  • 6Ability to work independently in complex secure environments with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical leadership and mentoring abilities
  • 8Willingness and ability to participate in a production on-call rotation
  • 9Concrete knowledge of PowerShell scripting Microsoft certifications Terraform Ansible Kubernetes security and frameworks such as AWS DevOps Engineer
  • 10Familiarity with PKI identity services scripting in Python and Bash and supporting large enterprise systems
