Overview

Healthcare administration support for dental students as they complete clinical requirements serving as the communication link between student providers, patients, supervising faculty, and the clinical program liaison. The role includes day-to-day clinic operations, chart audits, EHR reviews, and quality improvement participation to help students graduate on time. This position partners with FQHC supervision to standardize policies and processes and works across the clinic, simulation lab, and data reporting tools.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and manage daily clinic operations in collaboration with the FQHC Dental Supervisor to standardize policies and materials
  • 2Design patient scheduling and portfolio management workflows to ensure accurate active patient rosters
  • 3Lead chart audits and accuracy checks of patient notes and CDT coding in the EHR
  • 4Drive participation in meetings and continuous quality improvement programs
  • 5Ship data reports and progress summaries using the EDR and Acuity Insights to support stakeholders
  • 6Own patient record reviews and ensure HIPAA privacy and security compliance
  • 7Scale data analysis for trend reporting on student progress and clinical education
  • 8Debug and resolve patient scheduling or record issues to maintain smooth clinic operations
  • 9Collaborate with faculty to ensure continuity of care and educational goals
  • 10Support simulation lab activities and ongoing administrative tasks to support student success

Requirements10

  • 1High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 2Preferred: Dental Assisting certificate or Dental Hygiene degree
  • 31-3 years of experience
  • 4Preferred: dental office management, patient care coordination, EHR experience
  • 5Knowledge of HIPAA OSHA and infection control policies and protocols
  • 6Ability to gather data and compile reports essential to student success
  • 7Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to cybersecurity and privacy policies
  • 8Strong written and oral communication skills
  • 9Ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing environment
  • 10Proficiency with electronic health records and dental practice management software
