Overview

What You'll Do8

  • 1Conduct wellness checks each shift and document participant status in HMIS and DARs.
  • 2Clean and disinfect restrooms and shower areas after each use, restocking supplies like soap and towels.
  • 3Lead routine site walk-throughs to enforce safety protocols and contraband control.
  • 4Respond to emergencies, including medical crises and evacuations, using trauma-informed de-escalation.
  • 5Support meal service, supply distribution, and participant intakes with a respectful approach.
  • 6Transport participants to routes in agency vehicles, completing maintenance checks and mileage logs.
  • 7Document incidents and maintain shift pass-down logs for seamless communication.
  • 8Coordinate with external service providers to connect participants to resources.

Requirements7

  • 1High school diploma or GED required.
  • 21+ years in homeless services, shelter operations, or social services preferred.
  • 3Knowledge of trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
  • 4Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • 5Pass background screening, drug and alcohol tests, and MVR check if driving.
  • 6Strong observation skills and situational awareness in crisis environments.
  • 7Basic computer proficiency for HMIS documentation.
