Child Nutrition Elementary Manager, Food Service & Operations
Overview
Manages school cafeteria operations at Mesa Public Schools with a focus on timely, quality meal service for students. Owns daily meal preparation, safety compliance, and coordination between the principal and the Food and Nutrition Department. Works with a team of cafeteria staff to maintain high standards in a fast paced environment. This role combines hands on food service with administrative oversight to ensure smooth operation across multiple sites.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build daily lunch service plans to meet time schedules and quality standards for all meals
- 2Coordinate cafeteria operations and order food and supplies to support meal programs
- 3Supervise cafeteria personnel including training and evaluating employees
- 4Prepare and post employee schedules and manage staffing levels
- 5Promote and market school lunch programs to students and staff
- 6Serve as liaison between principal and Food and Nutrition department to ensure alignment with policies
- 7Prepare accurate reports and records of meals served and resources used
- 8Ensure compliance with district safety sanitation and health policies
- 9Provide excellent customer service to students and staff
- 10Attend meetings and support other duties as assigned to maintain operations
Requirements5
- 1High school education or equivalent
- 2Valid Arizona Driver’s license with proof of insurance and reliable transportation
- 3Maricopa County Food Service Worker card
- 4Must acquire Maricopa County Certified Food Service Manager card within 3 months
- 5Two full years’ experience in school food service or equivalent
