Child Nutrition Assistant, Food Preparation & Service in School District
Overview
Oversee food preparation, serving, cashiering, and cleanup in a school kitchen for a 25 hour per week schedule at Silver Valley Elementary. Collaborate with the cafeteria manager, staff, and students to support safe food handling and accurate cash handling. Bring experience with food preparation and money handling, and adapt to a busy school environment. This role emphasizes safety, sanitation, and teamwork in a public school setting.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and operate the cash register during service and report daily cash and inventory outcomes
- 2Prepare food and assist with quantity production to meet student meal demands
- 3Follow HACCP guidelines and maintain sanitation standards in all kitchen activities
- 4Stock supplies, set up and break down serving lines, and assist with daily cleaning of kitchen equipment
- 5Maintain good rapport with students, staff, and community while providing reliable cafeteria service
- 6Ensure accurate inventory and reporting of food quantities, excess, and production
- 7Assist Senior CN Assistant and step in during absences as needed
- 8Operate standard kitchen equipment including convection ovens, microwave, steam table, and hot holding carts
- 9Perform duties in a safe manner and follow district priorities
- 10Complete paperwork and required at-need tasks in a timely fashion
Requirements10
- 1Current Food Handler`s Certificate
- 2High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3Experience in food preparation desired
- 4Experience handling money desired
- 5Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- 6Knowledge of HACCP and workplace safety requirements
- 7Ability to operate a computerized cash register
- 8Must pass a background clearance and obtain Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 9Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- 10Ability to communicate with parents, staff, and students about the Child Nutrition program
