Food Unit Lead, School Food Service & Dining
Overview
Own daily supervision of cafeteria operations at a K-12 site and ensure safe, appetizing meals for students. Lead food preparation, service, and sanitation at scale across a school dining program. Collaborate with managers to plan menus, train staff, and ensure on-time meal service. This role is onsite at Murphy Elementary School District, Monday to Friday mornings.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and supervise food preparation and service to meet standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control
- 2Lead staff training and assign work to promote efficiency in food and service
- 3Oversee daily meal service and ensure timely, quality delivery to students and staff
- 4Manage inventory, vendor orders, and payroll/timekeeping tasks for the site
- 5Address customer concerns in person and via email to maintain satisfaction while adhering to policies
Requirements5
- 1Prior food service and cooking experience is required
- 2Ability to manage sanitation and safety per company standards and government regulations
- 3Experience planning menus and coordinating work schedules
- 4Proven ability to supervise and train food service staff
- 5Strong cash handling and paperwork skills with familiarity of daily/weekly/monthly reporting
