Food Unit Lead, K-12 Food Service Management

Own daily supervision of cafeteria operations at a K-12 site and ensure safe, appetizing meals for students. Lead food preparation, service, and sanitation at scale across a school dining program. You will run daily cafeteria operations at Monroe Township School, overseeing food service and sanitation for a K-12 dining program. Coordinating a team of food-service employees, you ensure timely meal service and a clean, safe environment. This role reports to the Chartwells K12 district manager and works closely with school staff. You will train staff, manage cash handling, and maintain inventory and production records. Prior food service and supervisory experience is required; ServSafe certification sets you apart.

You supervise a team of 5-10 kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, safety, and compliance with Health Department Standards. You step in for the kitchen manager, making routine decisions and maintaining smooth service. Your work directly impacts student nutrition and school community trust.

You will own menu planning, recipe compliance, ordering, inventory, and food quality for Martinez Unified School District, serving 3,800 students across 8 schools. You will report to the Director and lead a unionized food service team, providing hands-on culinary guidance, training, and support. You will implement Mood Boost programs and conduct cooking demonstrations to boost student engagement. Travel to each school twice per week is required, with mileage reimbursement. Prepare, present, and serve food for students at Clayton Valley Charter High School, part of Chartwells K12's 4,300-school network. You will own daily food prep and service, ensuring students leave the cafeteria happier and healthier. Work Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, with no weekends or holidays. Part time role with fixed pay rate of $17.00 per hour. You will join a team dedicated to custom dining programs and top culinary, nutrition, and wellness standards.
