Food Unit Lead, K-12 Cafeteria Supervisor
Overview
You will run daily cafeteria operations at Monroe Township School, overseeing food service and sanitation for a K-12 dining program. Coordinating a team of food-service employees, you ensure timely meal service and a clean, safe environment. This role reports to the Chartwells K12 district manager and works closely with school staff. You will train staff, manage cash handling, and maintain inventory and production records. Prior food service and supervisory experience is required; ServSafe certification sets you apart.
What You'll Do8
- 1Oversee daily food preparation and service, ensuring sanitation and portion control standards.
- 2Supervise and coordinate food-service employees, assigning tasks and managing work schedules.
- 3Train employees on food safety and customer service protocols, following ServSafe guidelines.
- 4Manage cash handling and complete daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and production reports.
- 5Respond to customer complaints in person and via email, resolving issues promptly.
- 6Order food and supplies from approved vendors, maintaining supply chain accuracy.
- 7Develop and enforce cleaning schedules for the kitchen and dining areas.
- 8Assist in selecting and orienting new employees, ensuring they meet compliance standards.
Requirements7
- 11+ years prior food service and supervisory experience required.
- 2ServSafe certification preferred.
- 3High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 4Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 2:45 pm.
- 5Comfortable with cash handling and inventory software.
- 6Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- 7Legal authorization to work in the United States.
