Overview
You will own culinary operations for a school district in Detroit, serving thousands of students daily. You will report to the General Manager and lead a kitchen team, ensuring food quality, safety, and client satisfaction. What You'll Do6
- 1Train and manage kitchen personnel, coordinating all culinary activities to meet daily service goals.
- 2Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase supplies to control costs and minimize waste.
- 3Select and develop recipes, standardizing production for consistent quality across all meal periods.
- 4Establish presentation and quality standards, planning and pricing menus that meet nutritional guidelines.
- 5Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance, enforcing safety and sanitation protocols in the kitchen.
- 6Oversee special catering events and demonstrate culinary techniques to elevate the dining experience.
Requirements5
- 12-3 years of experience in a related culinary or food service management role.
- 22-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent work experience.
- 3Culinary degree preferred, with advanced knowledge of food service principles and practices.
- 4Experiential knowledge of managing people and solving operational problems.
- 5Strong oral, reading, and written communication skills for team coordination and client interaction.
