Child Educator Assistant at Building Blocks Preschool
Overview
Own classroom support for preschoolers in a licensed program at Mesquite Elementary. You will assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining a safe, organized learning environment, and ensuring compliance with Arizona standards. You will collaborate with families, staff, and community partners and may mentor other assistants. This role offers hands on experience in early childhood education and a pathway to growth within the district.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment that supports cooperation, learning, and enjoyment
- 2Assist with planning, organizing, and delivering activities aligned with the Arizona Early Learning Standards and CLASS
- 3Support daily attendance, scheduling, and activity delivery while ensuring AZDHS licensing compliance
- 4Mentor and train other Child Educator Assistants and aides as needed
- 5Aid children with special needs and help integrate them with peers
- 6Prepare setup and teardown of centers and assist in daily routines including snacks and health care tasks
- 7Support visiting instructors and participate in staff meetings and professional development
- 8Help implement the Prevent Teach Reinforce behavior plan and document progress
- 9Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and community
- 10Assist with documentation and records keeping as required by licensing
Requirements5
- 1Must have Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 2High school diploma or equivalent with 18 years of age or older
- 3Minimum 6 months licensed care experience
- 4Completion of 24 hours of verifiable training each year
- 5Must meet DHS Child Day Care Center Teacher Caregiver requirements and CPR/First Aid recertification every two years
