Preschool Assistant Teacher, ECE Support at Sun Valley Education
Overview
The Preschool Assistant Teacher will support daily operations of the preschool program at Sun Valley Education, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for young learners. This role works under the Preschool Lead Teacher to plan and implement daily activities, weekly lesson plans, and family engagement opportunities. You will collaborate with families and school staff to contribute to a positive early childhood learning environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment for children and families
- 2Assist with planning and implementing daily activities and weekly lesson plans aligned with the curriculum
- 3Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities to promote exploration and social skills
- 4Maintain supervision and appropriate staff-to-child ratios at all times
- 5Assist with attendance records, sign-in/out, and child assessments
- 6Communicate with families and staff through appropriate channels
- 7Support family participation events, conferences, and school functions
- 8Prepare organized classrooms, materials, and learning environments
- 9Monitor classroom supplies and inventory and coordinate with leadership for replenishments
- 10Follow policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Actively pursuing Early Childhood Education certification, CDA credential, or related degree
- 3Minimum of two years of experience with preschool-aged children
- 4Minimum age 18 and able to care for a large group of children independently
- 5Current CPR and First Aid Certification, TB test results within the previous year, and Food Handler's Card
- 6Reliable transportation and proficiency with Microsoft programs
- 7Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and sustain active supervision in a classroom
- 8Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one
- 9Registration with the Arizona Registry upon hire
- 10Willingness to complete required annual trainings and participate in background checks
